Although born in Bangor Northern Ireland, Nuala studied fine art at the Bulawayo School of Art in Zimbabwe. Working for several years as a designer for a Monogram and embroidery company, she also freelanced for Sun International, a large hotel and leisure resort consortium in South Africa, painting large theatre- type back drops for their banquet and theme evenings. While living in Belgium she went on to meet her teacher and mentor Madame Nono Gaillet, a well known oil painter and colourist. Using a fairly vivid palette and working mainly in oils, Nuala is currently working on a series of beach scenes and landscapes, drawing inspiration from the ever changing relationship between sea and land.
